2018年7月17日,星期二下午三点到四点半,华东师范大学思勉人文高等研究院博士生卢华在东京大学驹场校区101号馆2楼会议室举行了一次题为“‘阶级’与‘共和’:国民党内部围绕列宁主义的接受、冲突和话语之争(1924-1927)”的报告会。活动的安排是,报告人报告45分钟,然后由远道而来的京都同志社大学的村田雄二郎教授进行20分钟的点评。

第六回UTCP人文亞洲研討會(間アジア人文学セミナー)於2018年1月9日(二)在東京大學駒場校區101號館舉行。本次研討會報告人為台灣交通大學社會與文化研究所博士生謝萬科,評論人為東京大學總合文化研究科月脚達彦教授,而由東京大學總合文化研究科石井剛教授擔任主持。報告主題則是就近代朝鮮知識人申采浩、朴殷植和李炳憲三人的儒教思想及其批判與國族主義之間的關係進行討論。

On October 14th and 15th, UTCP hosted the lectures delivered by Prof. Hon Tze-ki from SUNY. The lecture on 14th titled "Guo qi xue bao and Modern China" was given in Chinese and the one on 15th titled "Contemporary New Confucianism from 1980s to 1990s and East Asian Capitalism" was in English. So, in the followings, the lectures on 14th is reported in Chinese, and the 15th one is in English.

2013年11月16日,我們邀請到台灣交通大學的劉紀蕙教授,召開了““心”與Nation――反思東亞地區的現代經驗”爲題的研討會。會議在東京大學駒場校區18號館第4會議室舉行。劉教授的專業領域是政治哲學,她目前的研究課題是,以章太炎爲代表的近代中國思想與西方政治哲學思想的對比研究。此外與會並做發表的有東京大學UTCP的石井剛副教授和林少陽副教授,一橋大學的鈴木將久教授、明治大學的志野好伸副教授。

[Report] Asian Philosophy Forum Workshop: "Whither Chinese Philosophy?"

On November 17, 2012, a workshop entitled "Asian Philosophy Forum Workshop: Whither Chinese Philosophy?" was held. We, UTCP, invited Professor John Makeham who is a Professor at Australian National University and Dr. Fabian Heubel who is an Associate Research Fellow at Academia Sinica. Professor Tsuyoshi Ishii from UTCP moderated it, and Professor Takahiro Nakajima from UTCP and I, Kazuya Kawase, spoke as commentators there. This workshop was a stimulating experience for me, since I usually study Hegelian not Chinese philosophy.

[Report] The Uehiro Research Division for Philosophy of Co-existence Opening Symposium "Ethics in Change"

The Uehiro Research Division for Philosophy of Co-existence Opening Symposium "Ethics in Change" was held at the University of Tokyo on 16 June 2012. The symposium addressed the idea of co-existence between human beings, between human beings and nature, between human beings and technology, and between science and humanities. It brought these concepts together in a novel philosophical approach that encouraged an enthusiastic and fruitful discussion, a discussion that inspired deeper thought in this subject area, yet traversed the multitude of ideas with ease. Associate Professor Shinji Kajitani (University of Tokyo) was the leading moderator of the symposium.

[Report] Symposium on Zhang Taiyan in Hong Kong

Zhang Taiyan (Binglin, 章太炎 or 章炳麟, 1869-1936) was a distinguished scholar in modern Chinese history, and one of the most famous national revolutionaries against Qing dynasty before Xinhai Revolution in 1911. However, his various and profound thoughts which combined Chinese traditional philology, pre-Qin thought, Buddhism, and modern knowledge from Western science and philosophy are more significant. A symposium held in City University of Hong Kong (City HK) on December 21 and 22, 2010 (UTCP co-organized), intensely discussed Zhang Taiyan as a part of a larger East Asian intellectual problematic.
