The 5th Annual Philosophical Meeting for Young Scholars of BESETO was held on January 8 and 9, 2011. 38 young philosophers from Peking University, Seoul National University and University of Tokyo gave talks in the conference.

The 24th Tokyo Colloquium of Cognitive Philosophy held on December 21, 2010, at Komaba Campus, and I made a presentation about time discounting and will. Here is a brief report about the idea and impression when I did my presentation.

The graduate workshop of the philosophy of mind held on March 25th at the University of Birmingham Philosophy Department, and four UTCP researchers made presentations in the workshop. Here is a brief report about it.

We held a series of lectures by Dr. Lisa Bortolotti (University of Birmingham) for five days from the 23rd to 29th of October 2010.

The 8th Komaba Brain Café “A Scientific Study of an Optical Illusion: A Strange Relation between an Illusion and the Brain” was held on May 19th, 2010.

TCCP, or Tokyo colloquium of cognitive philosophy, is an English-only seminar which is held as a place for active discussion among UTCP fellows who are interested in neurophilosophy, neuroethics and various related topics.

Susan Blackmore's Consciousness: A Very Short Introduction was translated into Japanese by Yukihiro Nobuhara, Haruka Tsutsui and Yu Nishitsutsumi.

The international conference "Brain Matters: New Directions in Neuroethics" was held on September 24-26, 2009 in Halifax, Canada. Koji Ishihara, Mineki Oguchi, and Yu Nishitsutsumi of UTCP participated in the conference. The conference was mainly organized by the Novel Tech Ethics research team at Dalhousie University.

In seminar 5 of the UTCP Education Program "Brain Sciences and Ethics", we examine Moral Minds by Marc D. Hauser. In session 12 of this seminar, we discussed the latter half of chapter 6 (pp. 334-356).

The 11th and 12th Tokyo Colloquium of Cognitive Philosophy (TCCP) was held in the autumn of 2008.

The first annual meeting of the Neuroethics Society was held in Washington DC on November 13 and 14 in 2008. Four UTCP researchers paticipated in the conference.
