In the seventh seminar of the Mid-Term Education Program 'Ecriture and Thought in Modern East Asia', Yoshitaka Yamamoto (Master Student, Comparative Culture and Literature) presented his work entitled ''Pika-don and dream: an ephemeral memory" on May 28. The discussion animated by Tomoyuki Morita (Doctor Student, Education) followed the presentation on June 18.

Dr. Shlomo Sand(Tel Aviv Univ. of Israel) made the lecture "Israel: Jewish and Democratic" at UTCP.

The 8th Komaba Brain Café “A Scientific Study of an Optical Illusion: A Strange Relation between an Illusion and the Brain” was held on May 19th, 2010.

The annual meeting of Japan Association for Philosophy of Science was held at Senshu University on June 12-13, 2010. I made a presentation "The 'brain' in the ‘male/female brain’ discourse" at the workshop "What is neuroscience literacy?" in this conference.

In memory of Japanese Philosopher Megumi SAKABE, the UTCP organized a small colloquium.

On July 9, 2010, UTCP invited Dr. Thin Minh-Hoang Ngo from University of Province (France).

The Sixth Seminar of the Mid-Term Education Program "Ecriture et Thought in Modern East Asia" consisted of a presentation by Saori Miyata (Master student, comparative literature and culture) and of comments by Tsumoti Aki (Lecturer of University of Tokyo/UTCP). The presentation was entitled "Ambiguity of visual expressions in Nagai Kafu: 'modern city' and creation of image".

TCCP, or Tokyo colloquium of cognitive philosophy, is an English-only seminar which is held as a place for active discussions among UTCP fellows who are interested in neurophilosophy, neuroethics and various related areas.

MORITA Takahiro, a member of the Mid-Term Education Program "Ecriture and Thought in Modern East Asia", made a presentation entitled 'A Linguistic Study of Motion Events and the Problem of Sharing Meanings'. It was the second session of the series of 'Presentation and Discussion by UTCP Researchers'.
