The Review Symposium on Eureka (2010, 12) was held on January 30, 2011. We (Takaki HAYAO, Tetsuro IRIE, Maika NAKAO, Yoshimi YASHIRO, Futoshi HOSHINO, Naoya FUJITA) talked about the special issue on Eureka featuring Hiromu Arakawa and discussed her comic "Fullmetal Alchemist".

The 4th BESETO Conference of Philosophy was held on 7 and 8 January, 2010.

TCCP, or Tokyo colloquium of cognitive philosophy, is an English-only seminar which is held as a place for active discussions among UTCP members who are interested in neurophilosophy, neuroethics and various related topics.

On January 21st, we held the workshop about public engagement in science and technology. Maika Nakao talked about the UTCP approach to the Komaba Brain Café, and Sho Sekiya talked about a theoretical approach to public engagement.

On September 30th, World Wide Views (WWViews) in Osaka was held at Toyonaka campus of Osaka University.

On April 21, the first Komaba Brain Café, titled "Healing Dementia by Eating!? Between Food and Medicine," was held at Italian Tomato Café Jr., Komaba Campus, The University of Tokyo. “Komaba Brain Café” aims at providing venues for a free and active dialogue with those who are interested in brain science, neuroscience, and neuroethics.

On April 21, the first Komaba Brain Café, titled "Plastic Brain, Flexible Society," was held at the First-year Activity Center. “Komaba Brain Café” aims at providing venues for a free and active dialogue with those who are interested in brain science, neuroscience, and neuroethics.

　　I participated in the 12th International Conference on the History of Science in East Asia at Johns Hopkins University. This conference is held every three years in East Asia, Europe and the U.S.

　Professor Viren Murthy (Otawa University)'s lecture about “Overcoming Modernity and Overcoming Capitalism” was held on July 10th.
