On 30th-31st July, University of Tokyo hosted a symposium on Philosophy of Mind and Mental Illness at its Komaba Campus. This post describes the talks presented at the symposium. MORE |
On 19th and 20th March 2016, the 10th BESETO Conference was held in Seoul National University. The BESETO conference are organized by University of Pekin, Seoul National University and, the University of Tokyo, and has annually been hosted by each university. In this year, from UTCP, five participants gave the presentations on their philosophical research. MORE |

On January 31st, we hold a one-day international workshop event, “Ethical Issues in Psychiatry Workshop.” Half of the talks were given by philosophers/ethicists, and the other half were given by active clinicians, which characterizes the interdisciplinary nature of the workshop. MORE |

The Uehiro Research Division for Philosophy of Co-existence Opening Symposium "Ethics in Change" was held at the University of Tokyo on 16 June 2012. The symposium addressed the idea of co-existence between human beings, between human beings and nature, between human beings and technology, and between science and humanities. It brought these concepts together in a novel philosophical approach that encouraged an enthusiastic and fruitful discussion, a discussion that inspired deeper thought in this subject area, yet traversed the multitude of ideas with ease. Associate Professor Shinji Kajitani (University of Tokyo) was the leading moderator of the symposium. MORE |

The international conference "Brain Matters: New Directions in Neuroethics" was held on September 24-26, 2009 in Halifax, Canada.
