Ms. Yoriko OTOMO's Lecture was held on May 15th as part of the UTCP Academic English Seminar.

We start podcasting talks held at the UTCP. The first talk is Yuji Nishiyama's "Afterglow of the '1968s': Historicization of 'May 68' and Its Resistance" (in Japanese). We shall post audio files of talks, as far as the speakers give us permission to do so.

　A seminar titled “Religion and Secularization in Germany” took place on May 12. The speakers of the seminar were Prof. Dr. Peter Muller and his wife Dr. habil. Anita Muller-Friese. Prof. Masashi Haneda took the chair in the seminar.
　

On May 13, Prof. Peter Muller (Karlsruhe University of Education, Germany) and Dr. Anita Muller-Friese delivered lectures, titled “Intercultural and Interreligious Learning in a German Perspective: Situation, Concepts, and Challenges“.

On May 8, we had a talk by Prof. Philip Buckley (McGill University, Canada). The title of his talk was "Husserl on Culture and Interculturality."

May 1968 in France is the only nationwide revolt in all of Western Europe since World War II. The largest general strike in the French history, it was held by the workers of every class.

The fourth meeting of the short-term education program "Philosophy and University" was Hisashi Fujita's talk "The University with Condition: Light and Shadow of French Elite Education".

The first meeting of the short-term education program "The Origins of Philosophy of History: Cosmology and Eschatology" was Tatsuya Nishiyama's talk "Heidegger and Cosmos: Starting from His 'Natorp Report'."

On April 22 and 25, we held a seminar and a lecture by Prof. Mitsuhiro Yoshimoto (Associate Professor, Dept. of East Asian Studies, New York University).

The second meeting of public joint research "Political Philosophy" was held on April 11. The speaker was Prof. Kim Hang, the former UTCP fellow. He is currently Research Professor at the Institute of Korean Culture, Korea University.
