Report: "The Origins of Philosophy of History" #1 "Heidegger and Cosmos: Starting from His 'Natorp Report'"

3 May, 2008 └The Origins of Philosophy of History, NISHIYAMA Tatsuya, MORITA Dan

The first meeting of the short-term education program "The Origins of Philosophy of History: Cosmology and Eschatology" was Tatsuya Nishiyama's talk "Heidegger and Cosmos: Starting from His 'Natorp Report'."

The main characteristic of this education program is to reconsider the idea of life where cosmology and eschatology intersect. This is not simply to make us survey the history of philosophy. Rather, it would show an encounter between the present time and the late 19th and the early 20th centuries.

In his talk, Nishiyama first provided an etymological explanation of the idea of cosmos. Then he analyzed Heidegger's idea of cosmos, referring to the so-called "Natorp Report."
