In Session 11 of the 1st Seminar: "Reading Levy's Neuroethics", we discussed the chapter 8 "Self-deception: The normal and the pathological".

From March 22 to 31, Yasuo Kobayashi, Takahiro Nakajima, UTCP fellows (Dennitza Gabrakova, Misato Ido, Wang Qian, Kei Hirakura, and Kei Yoshida), and Satoru Hashimoto (the former UTCP fellow, currently Ph.D. student at Harvard University) visited New York University.

From the 21st to the 29th of February we had a series of seminars with the participation of Thomas Metzinger (University of Mainz) and Stephan Schleim (University of Bonn), where we were able to discuss a variety of problems in neuroethics. Below is their brief report.

On November 11, I made a presentation at the 40th annual meeting of Philosophy of Science Society, Japan (at Chuo University, Tokyo). The title of my presentation is "Sociology as a political project: Fuller, bioliberalism, value-freedom." Below is its brief report.

UTCP Education Program "Brain Sciences and Ethics" started last week. In this program, we have two seminars: the 1st Seminar is "Reading Levy's Neuroethics" and the 2nd one is "Reading Gazzaniga's The Ethical Brain".

Yesterday we had a talk by Dr. John O'Dea. John is a post-doc at the University of Tokyo, and he specializes in the philosophy of mind. A caveat is in order here. I am no specialist in the philosophy of mind. Thus my report might contain some serious misunderstanding.
