The Formal Signing of Academic Exchange Agreement between Graduate School of Arts and Science, New York University and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo
In the morning of March 25, 2008, the formal signing ceremony of academic exchange agreement between Graduate School of Arts and Science, New York University and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo was held at the Torch Club, New York University (18 Waverly Place, New York).
The beginning of the relation between both parties was academic collaboration between Prof. Xudong Zhang at the Departments of Comparative Literature and East Asian Studies, NYU and Takahiro Nakajima at UTCP. Thus Department of East Asian Studies, NYU and UTCP played a leading role in negotiations. In the presence of the both parties concerned, Prof. Kate Stimpson, Dean of Graduate School of Arts and Science, NYU, delivered a speech. The letter of Prof. Norimichi Kojima, Dean of Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo, was read by Nakajima at UTCP. Furthermore, on behalf of the UTCP, Yasuo Kobayashi made a speech.
In a solemn, but friendly atmosphere, the signing ceremony was duly carried out. The aim of this agreement is to promote exchanges between graduate students and faculty members. With this as a start, we hope to develop academic exchange further.
