Harald Lemke is a professor at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Gastrosophy of the University of Salzburg. He was awarded his doctoral degree from the Goethe University Frankfurt for a thesis on eating, which he wrote under the supervision of Axel Honneth. He has been continuing interdisciplinary studies on "eating", and has published a number or books including Eat Art (2007), Ethics of Food (2007), Eating Knowledge (2008), and Politics of Eating (2012). His publications also include works on friendship, political freedom, Foucault, etc. In recent years he has been seeking a new "economics" against the backdrop of the economical crisis in Europe.
