The third BESETO Conference of Philosophy
“Philosophy in East Asian Context: Knowledge, Action, Death, and Life”

UTCP (The University of Tokyo, Center for Philosophy, Komaba) and DALS (Development and Systematization of Death and Life Studies, Hongo), at The University of Tokyo

The Third BESETO (Peking (Beijing) University, Seoul National University, the University of Tokyo) Philosophy Conference will be held on January 10-11, 2009 at the University of Tokyo, Komaba.  The theme of the conference will be “Philosophy in the East Asian Context: Knowledge, Action, Death, and Life”. Following the successes of the first and second BESETO conferences held at Seoul National University and Peking University, we hope to continue to foster dialogue among graduate students, young scholars and teachers of the three universities. Submissions are invited for papers on any aspect of philosophy, including epistemology, theory of action and Death and Life Studies. Participants from any philosophical branch and from any discipline are welcome.

Please submit papers with abstracts (approximately 300 words) via e-mail  by November 20, 2008 to:
