Professor Charles Shepherdson (State University of New York at Albany) has been in Taiwan during the last two years as a National Science Council Visiting Professor and has taught in National Tsinghua University and National Taiwan University. This time, at the end of his stay in Asia, he kindly accepted our invitation and came to give a lecture on Antigone of Sophocles, which was held on July 9th.

林永強先生 (The Hong Kong Institute of Education) and 張政遠先生 (The Chinese University of Hong Kong) visited our office on July 24th, 2008.

On July 7th, we held the eighth session of the seminar “Secularization, Religion, and State.”

On June 30th, the seventh session of the Seminar “Secularization, Religion, State” was held.

On the 16th of June we had the pleasure of inviting Mr. Yoshihiro Suda, a contemporary artist famous for his "weeds" carved of wood.
