The 4th BESETO Conference of Philosophy was held on 7 and 8 January, 2010.

Junichi Murata published a book, Philosophy of Technology (Iwanami Shoten Publishers). This is a textbook based on his lectures at Komaba Campus.

The 3rd BESETO (Peking University, Seoul National University and the University of Tokyo) Conference of Philosophy was held on January 10–11, 2009 at the University of Tokyo, Komaba Campus. The theme of the conference was “Philosophy in the East Asian Context: Knowledge, Action, Death, and Life.”

On Saturday Aug 2nd members of UTCP took part in a round-table on recent neuroscience and consciousness at the World Congress of Philosophy. Apart from myself, the other panel members were Jung-Sun Han Heuer, Yukihiro Nobuhara, and Saku Hara. Junichi Murata chaired the round-table.

On May 30, there was a talk by Prof. Takashi Ikegami (Associate Professor of The University of Tokyo, Department of General Systems Studies). He has been mainly working on the fields of complex systems, artificial life, and robotics. The talk was about his recent book, Movement Creates Life (Ugoki ga Seimei wo Tsukuru).

第二届BESETO哲学会议于2007年12月27日到28日在北京大学勺园宾馆举行。东京大学有九名研究者（其中UTCP五名）出席。

On the 27th and 28th of December 2007 the Second BESETO Meeting on Philosophy was held at Shaoyuan Hotel of Beijing University. Nine researchers from the University of Tokyo (including five from UTCP) attended.
