New report on our activities: In Session 2 of the 3rd Seminar: "Reading Prinz's The Emotional Construction of Morals", we discussed the chapter 1: "Emotionism".

　On 23rd June, we held the sixth session of the Seminar “Secularization, Religion, and State.”

The fifth session of the Seminar “Secularization, Religion, State” was held on June 16th. In this session,

On May 30, there was a talk by Prof. Takashi Ikegami (Associate Professor of The University of Tokyo, Department of General Systems Studies). He has been mainly working on the fields of complex systems, artificial life, and robotics. The talk was about his recent book, Movement Creates Life (Ugoki ga Seimei wo Tsukuru).

On June 9th, the fourth session of the Seminar “Secularization, Religion, State” was held.

　　The program of the 7th TCCP was text reading, and we read the preface and chapter 1 of J. J. Prinz’s book Gut Reactions: A Perceptual Theory of Emotion (2004).

On June 2nd, the third session of the Seminar “Secularization, Religion, State” was held.

On June 6, the fifth lecture on understanding Islam "Why Now the Revival of Islam? From the Perspective of Modern History of Islamic Thought" was held. The speaker was Masato Iizuka (Professor, Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies).

The UTCP Academic English Seminar (2008 Summer Semester) started.

On May 26th, the second session of the Seminar "Secularization, Religion, State" was held in the Komaba campus. We aimed to build common ground on "secularization", "religion" and "state" in this session.
